What is at stake

Five categories of exposure.

Fines

Effective, proportionate and dissuasive. Member States set the level. Some have proposed % of turnover.

Back-pay & damages

Workers can claim full recovery of back-pay, bonuses and lost benefits, plus compensation.

Burden of proof

Burden shifts to the employer. You must prove there is no pay discrimination.

Reputational

Pay-gap data becomes public. Investors, journalists and candidates will benchmark you.

Procurement exclusion

Member States may exclude non-compliant employers from public contracts and grants.
